Happy 4th to all those in the USA. ::waves flag::

I’m sitting here watching Jaws 1 – 3. lol I guess these need to be considered part of my favorite films since I tend to watch them pretty much every time they are on tv.

My mom and I had cheeseburgers and potato salad for lunch. Tonight we are going to my sister’s friends house for a BBQ and then we are going to watch the fireworks.

Hmmmm… ok. I can’t think of what else to say. lol

rock on! \m/

My mom got passes to a screening of The Rocker on Monday night from her work. Each pass admitted 2 people and she got 2 passes so her, my brother, sister and I went. The passes said there were more passes then seats being given out since they wanted a full house and expected people to not show up. So we got there about an hour and a half before the movie started. We went to this little Mexican restaurant next door and shared a plate of nachos then went back to the theater where they had started lining people up to go into the theater. And had us stand there for a good amount of time for no reason. We were allowed to use our cell phones for any reason while we were in the theater, ipods/mp3 players/recording devices/etc and they checked our purses as we walked in.

Ok I haven’t been to a movie theatre in almost a year. Not since I saw Hairspray on July 20th. I’m not sure of the prices of the tickets/food at the theater here in town, but where the screening was (in Modesto) it was $10 for admission and a small popcorn was $5.50! A combo of a large drink, medium popcorn and candy was $14-something! We didn’t get anything to eat/drink during the movie because OMG those prices are insane and gives me a good reason not to spend money on movie theater movies and instead use Redbox. lol

We didn’t get any previews, but I guess it’s because it was a free screening instead of a regular show. The movie was pretty good. Teddy Geiger is awesome. I heart him. He sang a ton in the movie and I hope either he releases the songs himself or they are put on the movie’s soundtrack.

After the movie we went to this little, inexpensive mexican restaurant in town (not the same place as before) and ate again. lol My sister and I love this place. The 4 of us ate for $22! Then my sister drove home in her car and my brother, mom and I went in my mom’s.

You can see a clip of the movie here and you can view the trailer here.

busy, crazy weekend

My weekend was kinda busy and full of random.

My mom had to go into work on Saturday for a bit and when she got home we were going to go swimming. It was 102 degrees out. My mom got home and mentions she wants to eat something and then we’ll go swimming, but there are dark clouds in the sky. Not even 5 minutes later it starts pouring rain. I blame my mom. lol She said some magic words and it rained. lol And yes I repeat that it was 102 degrees out and raining. o.O I don’t think it even lasted 10 minutes though, so we got ready and went swimming. Usually we’re in the pool about 30-45 minutes. We were in there almost an hour and a half yesterday. haha The weather was awesome and the water is finally starting to warm up and not feel like a pool full of ice cubes.

We get back from the pool and make salsa and guacamole. Or at least attempt to. The salsa wasn’t very hot, even after adding 1 1/2 jalapenos. Maybe it was not adding the seeds? I dunno. I don’t like it hot anyway. The guacamole was chunky because I couldn’t smash it up enough. lol So after standing at the counter eating chips, salsa and guacamole while telling each other we’re going to stop over and over, we decide to go out and get dinner. Hi, yeah we’re crazy. There’s a new Mexican place in town so we went over there. It’s kind of expensive considering it’s a walk up to the counter and place your order type place, but the food was good. I got a shredded chicken burrito for almost $7. It was huge, but there’s another place in town where I could get one pretty much the same size for $3.75. We brought our food home and I ate mine while watching The Day After Tomorrow. I ate the whole burrito and got a food baby and was really really full. Watched more tv, blah blah blah, went to sleep and woke up full! It was hella weird.

Ok so today I woke up full. My mom wanted to run to Wal-Mart and the grocery store. I decided to go with her to give myself something to do. In the paper today we got one of those paper bags from Office Max where everything that fits in there is 15% off. I told my mom about it and a store recently opened in town so she wanted to go. We got copy/printer paper, a stapler (it’s purple!), staples, a battery charger (so my mom can recharge batteries for her camera and the house phones), and a memory card for her camera. She got the camera last year, I think? At least now she can start using it. lol Then we saw where the new Costco is going up. It’s supposed to open mid-August! And there was a sign that they were hiring, so I applied online tonight. ::crosses fingers for a phone call:: Then we went to Wal-Mart, where my mom used a gift card she got for her birthday on a bathing suit cover-up and some pajamas. We also got parmesean cheese and I got a pack of Oreo Cakesters. Then we went to the grocery store. It’s a Pack ‘N Save and they are turning it into a Safeway. Technically it was already a Safeway, just a different name. So they are moving aisles around and adding in a pharmacy and making a bigger bakery/deli/meat section. Anyway, I got a loaf of bread and my mom got random stuff. OH! And Coffee Mate now makes a Marshmallow Mocha creamer! But it was over $3 for the small size so we passed on that this time and got Tiramisu for $2.50. Then we went to Foster’s Freeze and had some ice cream. My mom loves chocolate chocolate dipped cones. As in chocolate ice cream dipped in chocolate. I got a fudge oreo parfait, but there wasn’t enough oreo or fudge for my liking. Then we came home, put everything away and vegged out. My feet were killing me by the time we got home.

So now I’m sitting here, typing this up and watching a repeat of Grey’s Anatomy. It’s the first part of the ferry boat episodes. I finished dinner about an hour ago. Grilled cheese! And more chips, salsa and guacamole. lol

June 19, 2008

It’s 8:22pm and I’ve been awake since 2pm yesterday. lol

I’ve been having such a hard time waking up lately. I’ll wake up when my alarms go off long enough to stumble the 2 feet to turn them off, then roll back into bed. When the alarms ring on my cell phone, I either turn them off without a blink or sleep right through them. Sometimes I even set up a wake up call and haven’t answered it yet. The alarms go off at 9:30am and 10:15am for the alarm clock. 10am, 10:10am, 10:20am and 10:30am for my cell phone alarms. 10:45am or 11am is when I have used the wake up service call. All those alarms and I haven’t been getting out of bed until 2pm.

So I decided last night that I wouldn’t go to sleep. I’d stay up all night and hopefully fall asleep at a decent hour tonight and set my sleep schedule back on track. Or at least back to a more reasonable track. It doesn’t matter that I don’t really have a reason to be up at 10am rather than 2pm, I hate sleeping the day away.

I can usually get by with about 6 or 7 hours of sleep, so going to bed between 2:30 – 3am gives me enough time to get enough sleep and wake up when my first alarms go off. I fell asleep for about an hour 2 hours ago so we’ll see when I go to sleep tonight. I know it’ll be after Loud Guy leaves for work. By then the sun should also be almost out of the sky and it won’t be so damn hot in this room.

happy pappy day!

My brother, sister and I went out to dinner last night with our dad and step-mom. We went to this great Italian place in town, Strings. I had the Pasta Siena to eat. Shrimp and chicken sauteed in virgin olive oil, pesto, garlic and red chili pepper, tossed with sun dried tomatoes, and penne pasta. Finished with a touch of Alfredo with a hint of curry topped with roma tomatoes. It was a little on the spicy side, but it wasn’t bad. It really smelled like curry though. lol

After dinner we all went to my dad’s, sat outside and had cupcakes with melty frosting from the heat and ice cream and played some games. First was Catch Phrase and then Cranium Hoopla. Hoopla took an hour to play a full game, which is funny since it’s a timed game and that amount is 15 minutes. lol I don’t remember how long it took us to play Catch Phrase. We did a few rounds around the board, basically until dad got tired of playing. lol Then we went inside and watched the last half hour of RV, then my sister and I left since my step-mom and dad have to work tomorrow.

stressed

I’m so stressed right now I can barely see straight. I’ve had the worst time falling asleep the past week because my mind has been constantly running and I can’t get it to stop. Which means I’m not falling asleep until after 3am and not waking up until at least noon. Today I was up and out of bed around 11am, but yesterday I didn’t get up until 2pm!

I have a storage unit nearby and it holds about 95% of my belongings since there’s no room for them here. The monthly payment is due on the 1st, but I have until the 10th before it’s late. Well today is the 10th and I have $12 in my checking account and a $10 check to cash. That’s it. No bills in my wallet and hardly any change. I have no idea how I am going to pay my bill, which is $101. I’ve asked a couple family members and neither can loan me the money. Actually one of them doesn’t have the money and the other has it, but doesn’t want to help. I have no idea what I’m going to do, I say for the millionth time this post. I have applied for at least 13 jobs in the past 9 days and not a single one has called me about an interview. Blah!

I just got off the phone with the storage place and if I don’t pay today, which I can’t, I’ll get a $10 late fee. After the 14th I’ll get another $10 late fee and be locked out of my storage. Which is what I was most worried about. I mean, EVERYTHING is in there. All of my furniture, my cd’s, books, tons of memories, etc. All I can hope is that money falls from the sky and into my hands.

Think good thoughts for me.

sound the alarms!

Last Thursday was my brother’s high school graduation. My baby brother graduated high school! It seems like yesterday he was this little 2 year old eating sliced bananas while watching Home Alone. He watched that movie almost daily, he loved it that much. lol

I don’t think he knows about this blog, but either way Happy Graduation Jordan! I’m so proud of you!

There’s a picture under the cut, of my brother, sister and myself (I’m in purple), because it’s a little large in size. Keep reading →

i’m sunburned

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommies out there!

I’m sitting here waiting for my brother to call letting me know he’s off work and about to leave to pick up our sister and head over here. Then I’ll start getting ready to cook dinner. I’m making Creamy Chicken Bake, egg noodles and steamed broccoli. It will only take my brother about half an hour to get here and that’s about the same time it takes to cook the food. So I just have to make sure the food is finished after they arrive so that it doesn’t get cold/overcook. So as I sit here I’m watching Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Before that was Temple of Doom. Because Mother’s Day = Indian Jones marathon apparently. lol

And yeah I’m sunburned. I was outside Friday for a couple hours and was running late to where I needed to be and didn’t have time to put on sunscreen. Bah.

Ok, have a good day everyone! ::waves::

New Kids on the Block are releasing a new single on May 13th!

I yelled so loud when I found out. It’s like I’m 10 years old again. lol

You can listen to the song on their myspace.
